Frequently Asked Questions
Ready to Get the Rest You Need?
What areas of Tampa do you serve We provide overnight newborn care throughout Tampa and surrounding communities, including Hyde Park, Davis Islands, South Tampa, Westchase, and New Tampa. Whether you're in a historic bungalow in Hyde Park or a family home in Westchase, we match you with an RN who fits your neighborhood, schedule, and family's specific needs
Most families secure their spot before their baby arrives.
We typically book 60–90 days in advance and
accept a limited number of families each month.
How much does a night nurse in Tampa cost Overnight care starts at $50/hour, with rates increasing based on your specific package, including twins, weekend, or holiday care. All care carries a 10-hour nightly minimum, a one time $499 registration fee to reserve your spot on our client roster. Every family gets matched with a Registered Nurse — never a doula, sitter, or general caregiver — so pricing reflects true clinical-level care.
What qualifications do you require of your RN's? All of our nurses are Registered Nurses with clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby Postpartum, Pediatrics, or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Each nurse maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications and successfully completes a comprehensive criminal background check prior to working with any family. Many of our nurses also hold advanced certifications such as NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), or PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization). Every nurse is carefully vetted through a structured interview and screening process led by our nurse recruitment team to ensure not only strong clinical experience, but also professionalism, judgment, and the ability to provide calm, confident support in a home environment. We are highly selective in who we bring onto our team, ensuring each nurse is an exceptional fit for both our standards and the families we serve.
Takes less than 2 minutes!
Will I have the same night nurse every time? Continuity of care is a top priority for our team. We carefully build a consistent nurse rotation for each family, so you’ll see familiar, trusted faces throughout your time with us. Because our nurses are highly experienced Registered Nurses who also maintain their roles in the hospital, we design schedules in advance to ensure reliable coverage while keeping your rotation as consistent as possible. This approach allows us to provide both continuity and dependability, so you always have a qualified, familiar nurse caring for your baby.
How far in advance do Tampa families book? Many Tampa families reserve overnight newborn care 60–90 days before their ideal start date, and some book even earlier. Because Happy Baby Night Nurses™ maintains a limited RN team in each market, availability can fill quickly, especially for families requesting multiple nights per week. Last-minute requests are always welcome and may be accommodated based on remaining availability, but we recommend reaching out as soon as you know you would like support.
